Western Fort is actually a coastal fort with cannons, bunkers, and defensive gates which was initially inbuilt the 1850s and later expanded by subsequent forces. It had been created as an artillery and observation level on the Swinoujscie Fortress over the reign of Frederick William IV, King of Prussia.The area of Swinoujscie is naturally bordered
